AAP News (10 September 2018)  The Role of Integrated Care in a Medical Home for Patients with a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder aims to do the following: (1) foster pediatrician awareness of approaches for screening for prenatal alcohol exposure in clinical practice; (2) guide management of children diagnosed with an FASD; and (3) summarize resources for FASD management. ‘Who abuses children’ Child Abuse and Neglect (September 2014) CFCA Resource Sheet, Australian Institute of Family Studies. AIFS define child abuse and neglect as: any acts of commission or omission by a parent, caregiver or other adult that results in harm, potential for harm, or the threat of harm to a child (0-18 years of age) even if the harm is unintentional (Gilbert et al., 2009). Child abuse and neglect can be in the form of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, and witnessing domestic violence. Read more here…
